He directed his debts to be paid, and then any remaining balance given to his wife Achsah, with the exception of directed comfortable support for his sister Adaline Brewster. He named his Troy friends Charles W. Smith and Samuel Fowler as executors. The estate was appraised at $6634.10, which included 300 acres valued $4500, eight ($100) shares of State Bank of Wisconsin at Milwaukee valued $800, 850 bushels of wheat valued $511, 150 bushels of corn valued $37.50, 50 bushels of oats valued $10, numerous livestock, and some farming equipment.
