Frederick Miller was in six deferent campaigns in the Revolutionary War. The first was in Dec 1775, this was called the "Snow Campaign" in North and South Carolina, he was under the commanded of Col Rutherford and Col Richardson of the North Carolina militia, his captain was George Border and his Lieut. was his father Windle Miller. This campaign was a successful attack upon the Tories. The Tories was under the commanded of Patrick Cunningham.
His 2nd tour was on Feb 28 1776 he was in the battle of Moore's Creek, under Col Richard Caswell and Col Alexander Lillington. The battle was an American victory. He also had an battle with the Tories at Fort 96.
The 3rd tour was to march to Fayetteville North Carolina in pursuit of Scotch Tories. He was at Fayetteville for three months.
The 4th was in 1781 under his father Capt Windle Miller and Col Bordes in pursuit of the Tories in North Carolina.
The 5th was also in N.Carolina on the Deep River at Cox's Mill in pursuit of the Tories.
The 6th and last was in a scouting party for one mouth under Capt Borders and one mouth under Gen Griffith Rutherford after the Cherokee Indians.
Frederick married Margaret Brown on May 10 1779 in Rowan Co North Carolina. On the 1784 Rowan Co tax list Frederick had 429 acres on Cold Branch. In 1785 Frederick was granted 4000 acres in Tennessee on the Reelfoot River but he must have sold the land because he never lived in Tennessee. In 1793 Margaret father Michael Brown deeded Frederick 538 acres on Crane Creek.

In 1795 he moved to Jeffersontown in Jefferson Co Kentucky this was recorded on the 1795 Census. Where he had purchased a farm 1806. In 1821 he was the treasurer of Jeffersontown and in 1829 Frederick purchased lot 23 in Jefferson now 10535 Watterson Trail. He received his Rev War pension in 1832 $46.00 per year and after his death his wife Margaret got $20.00 per year
