Billings Resident Dies At Home

Frederick Sau Sr., 71, of Billings, died at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at his home.
Mr. Saur was born Oct. 11, 1881 in Russia, Jacob Sauer (B) 1/10/1850 D) 11/1/1924 and Christiana Dorothea Ehrmann Sauer (B) 10/17/1852 (D).

He came to the United States in 1911.
He homesteaded at Vanstel, MT., then moved to Vananda, MT.m where he operated a filling station from 1937 until 1952.

He moved to Billings in late 1952.

He is survived by his wife, three daughters, Mrs. William Schlecht of Stevensville, MT.; Mrs. Rosina Higginbotham of Billings, Mrs. Harry Kline of Auburn, WA.; two sons, Jacob Saur of Vananda, Fred Saur Jr. of Anaconda, MT.; A sister Mrs. Daniel Erlrndusch of Tolstoy. S.D. and a brother, Gottlieb Saur of Aberdeen, S.D.
fifteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren also survive.

The body is at Smith's Funeral Home.
