Hugo Bixler
Long-time cattleman, Hugo Bixler, 1927 W. 24th Ave., died this morning at Newman Hospital. Mr. Bixler was in a delegation from Emporia that went to Russia on a goodwill tour in 1959 at the height of the Cold War.

Hugo F. Bixler
Hugo F. Bixler, 78, 1927 W. 24th Ave., died Dec. 12, 1992, at Newman Hospital. Mr. Bixler was a longtime cattleman. In 1959, Mr. Bixler was one of a 17 - member delegation of stockman and agricultural tradesman who went on a "Farmers Good Will" European tour which included 11 days in Soviet Russia. The tour was sponsored by the federal Cultural Exchange Program and President Eisenhower's People to People Foundation.
Hugo F. Bixler, the son of Harold and Stella Sparks Bixler, was born Aug. 29, 1914, at Beatrice, Neb. He married Wilma J. Wheat Mary 5, 1938, at Lyndon.
Mr. Bixler is survived by his wife, a son, Mike Bixler of Plano., Texas, a daughter, Vicki Schutte of Juniper Ridge, Ariz., a brother, William Bixler, of Denver, Colo., three sisters, Lolita Axcell of Lawrence. Ruth Downing of Wichita and Roberta Keller of Ocean Grove, N.J.; and a granddaughter.
The body was cremated. A private family graveside service will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery. The Rev. Ralph Jackman will conduct the service.
Memorial contributions to the Beta Sigma Phi Heart Fund or the Lyon County Humane Society may be sent to Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home.
