Susan Skinner was the daughter of Samuel (Jr.) & Mary (Drake) Skinner. She was born around 1790 in Lower Turkeyfoot Twp., Somerset Co., PA.

She married Jonathan Colborn around 1805 in Lower Turkeyfoot Twp., Somerset Co., PA. They had at least six children, all born in Lower Turkeyfoot Twp., Somerset Co., PA:

- Elizabeth Colborn Hyatt (1807-1872)
- Robert M. Colborn (1809-1893)
- Aaron Burr Colborn (1814-1874)
- Lydia Colborn Low (1820-1901)
- Mary Ann Colborn Hyatt (1822/1824-1889)
- Silvester Colborn (abt 1825-aft 1860)

Susan died some time after 1870, in Lower Turkeyfoot Twp., Somerset Co., PA.

(Note: There may be another daughter, born between 1811-1819. She appears in the 1820 and 1830 census records, but I have never come across any other records of her name or birth. There is also a female under 5 listed with the family in the 1840 census. None of the known children would've been this age, and although Susan would've been in her late 40's, she still could've given birth to this child. So this could be yet another daughter, born between 1835-1840. Of course, it could also be a granddaughter or other female relative. She does not appear in the 1850 census with Jonathan and Susan, so if she is a daughter, she most likely died before 1850.)

Gravesite Details

It is not absolutely confirmed that Susan is buried here, but it is believed that she is one of the 94 unmarked graves. Many of the Colborn family members are buried here and she and her husband lived in this area.
