August KAHN, age 34, farmer, immigrated to the U.S. on the ship Thorwaldsen, which sailed from the ports of Copenhagen, Havre and Stettin and arrived at the Port of New York, Castle Garden on 13 January 1873. Traveling with him was Hermann CHRISTIAN, age 35, farmer. The wives and children of August KAHN and Herman CHRISTIAN immigrated on the ship Humboldt, which sailed from the port of Stettin and arrived at the Port of New York, Castle Garden on 30 Apr 1873.
August and Friederike KAHN had five children while living in Prussia: Bertha "Emelia" (1866-1921), Carl Wilhelm (1867-1868), Wilhelm "Herman" (1869-1957), Fredericke Wilhelmine (1871-1949) and Christian Friedrich "August" (1872-1942). Carl Wilhelm died in Prussia but the remaining four children immigrated to the U.S. with their parents.
After immigrating to the U.S. and settling in Marathon County, Wisconsin, four more children were born: Anna Maria "Mary" (1875-1943), Otto Frank (1879-1957), Martha (1881-1976), and Adele Wilhelmine "Della" (1883-1959).
Friederike MAASS KAHN died in 1888.
In 1890 Friedrich "August" KAHN married Caroline KRUEGER HACKBARTH.
