Friederike Wilhelmine Augustine MAASS KAHN was born in Prussia.

She married Friedrich August Wilhelm KAHN 29 Jan 1866 in Hermelsdorf, Naugard, Stettin, Pommern, Preussen.

[NOTE: Hermelsdorf is now the village of Nastazin in north-western Poland. Before 1945 the area was part of Germany.]

Friederike MAAS KAHN, age 24, and her four children immigrated to the U.S. on the ship Humboldt, which sailed from the port of Stettin and arrived at the Port of New York, Castle Garden on 30 Apr 1873. Traveling with Friederike and her children on the Humboldt were Louise MAASS CHRISTIAN and her daughter Emilie CHRISTIAN. The husbands of Friederike and Louise had previously arrived in the U.S. on the ship Thorwaldsen on 13 January 1873.

August and Friederike KAHN had five children while living in Prussia: Bertha "Emelia" (1866-1921), Carl Wilhelm (1867-1868), Wilhelm "Herman" (1869-1957), Fredericke Wilhelmine (1871-1949) and Christian Friedrich "August" (1872-1942). Carl Wilhelm died in Prussia but the remaining four children immigrated to the U.S. with their parents.

After immigrating to the U.S. and settling in Marathon County, Wisconsin, four more children were born: Anna Maria "Mary" (1875-1943), Otto Frank (1879-1957), Martha (1881-1976), and Adele Wilhelmine "Della" (1883-1959).
