Per the family tradition, she drowned in the small local lake, Fölsjön, near the farm. On 14 November 1881, she was riding in a sleigh and it broke thru the ice. She was eight months pregnant. The horse and sleigh went down and she paniced and held on with a death grip to the sleigh. When they brought up the sleigh she was still holding onto it, she and the horse drowned.
We don't have a picture of her. She was buried in the parish churchyard without a permanent marker as was the custom.
