Clement (Clem) Doolan, 61, owner and operator of Doolan's Supper Club, Francis Creek, died unexpectedly early Monday morning, May 16, at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc. The funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Saur Funeral Home, Kellnersville. The Rev. John Haen will officiate and entombment will be in Knollwood Mausoleum, Town of Kossuth. Amvets Post 99 of Manitowoc will conduct military services at the mausoleum.
Mr. Doolan was born Feb. 1, 1922, in the Town of Franklin, son of the late James J. and Margaret Mullins Doolan. He attended St. Patrick Grade and High School at Maple Grove, and served with the United States Navy Maple Grove, and served in the United States Navy during World War II with the submarine service. He married Marian Reindl Oct. 28, 1947, at St. Anne Catholic Church, Francis Creek, and they resided in Branch for 15 years. Mr. Doolan was formerly employed with Manitowoc County Highway Department as a crane operator. In 1968, they moved to Francis Creek where he and his wife operated Doolan's Supper Club the past 15 years. He was a member of Travelers Protective Association and Manitowoc County Tavern League and had been a deputy with Manitowoc County Sheriff's Department.
Survivors include his wife, Marian, two sons and a daughter-in-law, Steven and Sue of Francis Creek and David at home; five daughters and two sons-in-law, Sandra of San Antonio, Texas, Cathy and Nicholas Metz of Route 1, Denmark, Jackie Wegner of Green Bay, Peggy and David Koch of Timber Lake, S.D. and Jenny of Francis Creek; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Elaine and Archie Tadych and Florette and Edgar Nate of Manitowoc and five grandchildren, Jason Wegner, Mindy and Jodi Metz and Dustin and Adrienne Koch. An infant sister and infant twin granddaughters preceded him in death.
Friends may call at Saur Funeral Home 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday until the time of service. A prayer service will be at 8 p.m. Wednesday by Father Haen.
