Funeral for Eddie Ripka, 83, is Saturday



CLAREMONT -- The funeral for Eddie Ripka will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Vernon

Funeral Home in Dodge Center, with the Rev. Delbert Ring officiating. Burial will be

in Hillside Cemetery in Claremont.



Mr. Ripka, 83, of Owatonna Health Care Center, a former longtime Claremont area

resident, died Tuesday (May 10, 1994) at the care center.



He was born Oct. 24, 1910, in Dodge County. On Dec. 11, 1929, he married Josie

Skok in Dodge County and they were later divorced. Mr. Ripka farmed in the

Claremont area for many years, also worked at the Claremont Creamery and later

moved to St. Paul where he did landscaping work until his retirement. He entered

Owatonna Health Care Center two years ago.



Survivors include a daughter, Betty (Mrs. Daryl) Haskin of Hayfield; a son, Eugene of

St. Paul; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Ella (Mrs. Dick)

Schroeder and Emma Olson, both of Owatonna, and Mary Kubat of Claremont; and a

brother, Anton of Dodge Center. Two sons, two brothers and a sister preceded him

in death.



Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and an hour before the service

Saturday at the funeral home.@
