Katie Larson Nelson, daughter of Mr and Mrs Lars Larsen, ws born Sept. 17, 1878, in Albert Lea, Minn. She passed away March 16, 1952, at the home of her daughter, Mrs Thos. Houge, 716 Valley Ave., Albert Lea.
Mrs Nelson attended the Albert Lea Public Schools. She confessed Christ as her Savior and was baptized April 29, 1894. At the time of her passing she was the oldest woman member in years of membership of the church. She was an active member of the Women's Bible Class. She had served as president and secretary of the church's Ladies Aid at various times. She was united in marriage to Fred Nelson July 1898 in A lbert Lea. To this union five children were born, a son a nd four daughters.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband who passed away in 1913, a brother, Ralph Larsen, and two sisters, Mrs Frank Wilkie and Mrs Albert Larson. Surviving are her son, Milo Nelson, St. Paul, four daughters, Mrs Alfred Sorensen, Mrs John Hansen, Mrs Thos. Houge, all of Albert Lea, and Mrs E. H. Rodsater of Lakefield, four sisters, Mrs Will Olsen, Mrs Ed Arnold and Mrs Alice Andersen of Albert Lea, and Mrs Herman Fritsche of Waldorf, three brothers, Arthur and Will of Albert Lea, and Hervie of Austin, seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Wed. Mar. 19, from Calvary Baptist Church wi th Rev. A. J. DeNeui and Rev. I. Fredmund officiating. Two duets, "Meet Me The re; and "Good Night and Good Morning, " were sung by Mrs DeNeui and Mrs Walter Nelson, accompanied by Mrs Luddy Brabec on the organ. The pallbearers were James Sorenson, Robert Seabern and Burnell Lokken, grandsons, Alfred Madson, C. E. Roggensack and Julius Olson, friends of the family.
