Allen C. Homer, 65, of 13 Vernon Dr. died Sunday afternoon, apparently of a heart attack, at Harrisburg, Pa. as he was en route to Cortland.

He was stricken as he was driving causing his car to overturn. His wife, Ann, was injured and was taken to the Harrisburg Osteopathic Hospital. They had been visiting his brother, Dana Homer, at Batesburg, S.C.

Mr. Homer was born in Lapeer, July 15, 1907, the son of Lester and Maude Allen Homer, .and lived in Dryden for more than 30 years before moying to Cortland in 1962.

He was employed as a foreman at the Huntington Street plant of SCM for more than 37 years, retiring July 1, 1972. Since his retirement he had been a volunteer at the Cortland Workshop for the Handicapped in Homer.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Ann Givens Homer of Cortland; three sons, Gary Homer of Scotia, James Homer of Denver, Colo, and Wayne Homer of Cortland; five grandchildren; three brothers, Edmund Homer of Syracuse, Dana Homer of Batesburg, and the Rev. Robert Homer of Geneva; a sister, Mrs. Alma Dexter of Cortland and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Perkins Funeral Home, Dryden, with the Rev. Howard D. Horton, a nephew of Mr. Homer, officiating. Interment will be in Green Hills Cemetery, Dryden. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Friends may make contributions in Mr. Homer's memory to the Heart Fund.
