She moved with her parents to a farm near Olney as a child. She was married in 1917. Mrs. Avara was a member of the Olney First Baptist Church.
Survived by one son - Joel Avara of Olney; two brothers - Albert Jones of Olney and Eugene Jones of Alice; two sisters - Mrs. Cleo Blancett of Wichita Falls and Mrs. Ola Burris of Olney; two grandchildren; one great-grandson.
