Jacob Miller (Mueller) was born in the village of Gersheim, Saarland, Germany to Paul Mueller/Miller and his first wife, Elizabeth Vincent. Elizabeth died young and is buried in Germany. Jacob lost his leg in a farming accident while still a young man. Occupation: Shoemaker. Resided in the New Washington and Ottoville areas of Ohio. Came to Hannah, Grand Traverse Co., MI with his wife, Helena about 1884-85. One of the earliest German Catholic families to settle at Hannah along with his younger half sister, Barbara Miller Worm and family.
While Jacob died in Ohio, his body was transported to Michigan and buried in St. Mary's Cemetery.
