JOHN HOLLANDSWORTH

John Johnson Hollandsworth, 61, Rt. 4, Bassett, was dead on arrival today at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County.

Born in Franklin County, Feb. 9, 1917, he was the son of the late John Bunyon and Lorella Craddock Hollandsworth. He attended Franklin County schools and worked at DuPont for 26 years before retiring in 1975.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Kitty Rorrer Hollandsworth; one daughter, Mrs. James (Patricia) Cannoy of the Snow Creek Community, Martinsville; a son, Kenneth Hollandsworth of Collinsville; five grandchildren; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Michael (Emma Jean) Belton of Rt. 4, Bassett, and Mrs. Joyce Handy of Rt. 4, Martinsville; two sisters, Mrs. Lessie Adkins and Mrs. George (Velma) Sink of Bassett; a half-sister, Mrs. Orpha Mize of Martinsville; and two brothers, Alfred G. (Freddie) Hollandsworth and Troy M. Hollandsworth, Sr., both of Bassett.

The funeral will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. at Collins Funeral Home, Bassett. Burial will be in Roselawn Burial Park.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.
