CARLISLE, Aug 31.--Mrs Rebecca Hepburn, wife of ex-Judge Hepburn, died at her home on East Main street at 10:30 a.m. today, aged eighty-five years. She had been an invalid for two years, and for some time past was in a critical condition. The sudden death of her son, Dr Charles Hepburn, was a severe stroke, which had a very depressing effect upon her. She was an estimable lady, a member of the Presbyterian church from her youth and a resident of Carlisle for the past sixty years.
Her maiden name was Williamson, and she was a native of this county. Four of her brothers were Presbyterian ministers, one one, Rev. McKnight Williamson, is now in his ninety-third year. A husband and four children survive.
