Following the war, he and his wife moved to Longview, Washington where he worked for Reynolds Aluminum Company, Long Bell Lumber Company, while buying and running an egg business on a small farm in the beautiful valley surrounded by small mountains just off the Columbia River. He later worked for Weyehauser Lumber Company where at the time of his retiring in 1986, he was a chemist in the paper mill.
Tom was a member of the Golden Gloves.
