Catholic Saint. From an early age, his literary prowess and devout spirit shone through his writings on religious themes, displaying a profound dedication to God's service. Ordained as a priest in 1903, he undertook pastoral duties, notably ministering to indigenous communities, exemplifying his fervent love for Christ and the Virgin Mary. Amid the religious persecution in Mexico in 1927, Rodrigo faced hostility and persecution due to his priestly vocation. Despite seeking refuge and enduring betrayal, he faced his captors with remarkable serenity and forgiveness. On October 28, 1927, in the square of Ejutla, Aguilar Alemán met his martyrdom. Confronted with interrogation and a test of his faith, he exhibited courage and unwavering resolve, proclaiming, "Christ the King and Holy Mary of Guadalupe!" He was hanged from a tree by soldiers. Despite enduring immense suffering and agony, he steadfastly held onto his beliefs until his tragic demise. He was canonized on May 21, 2000, by Pope John Paul II.
