George E. Hemb, 71, of 3807 N. 31st St., Sheboygan, passed away unexpectedly, Thursday morning, July 7, 1994, at Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center.
He was born January 31, 1923 in the Town of Meeme, Manitowoc County, Wis., a son of the late George C. and Leona Ohse Hemb. He attended the Red Arrow and Pleasant Hill Schools in Cleveland. Following school, he worked with his father at the Pipperdt Meat Market in Cleveland.
On June 12, 1948, he married the former Margaret Witthuhn at St. John Lutheran Church in Plymouth. Following their marriage, the couple resided in Plymouth until 1956 when they moved to Sheboygan. At that time, George had been employed at the Vollrath Company in Sheboygan. George has also been in partnership with his father in an auto Salvage Business in Cleveland. He retired from the Vollrath Company on March 1, 1988 after 42 years of service.
He was a member of the Lutheran Chruch of Our Redeemer in Sheboygan.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret; three sons, Wallace (Sandra), Cleveland; Richard (Judith), Town of Sheboygan; Gordon (Patricia), Sheboygan; three grandchildren; one brother, Marvin (Margaret) Hemb, Sheboygan; two sisters, Marcella Arnst, Sheboygan, Annette (Elmer) Uhlig, Athelstane, Wis. and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for George Hemb will be held on Monday, July 11, at 11 a.m. at the Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer in Sheboygan. The Rev. H. William Jordan, pastor, will officiate. Burial will take place at Greenlawn Memorial Park in the Town of Sheboygan. Friends may call at the Wittkopp Funeral Home in Plymouth on Sunday, from 5-8 p.m. and on Monday, at the church from 10 a.m. until the hour of service that morning.
