Funeral services were conducted Friday morning at the Hengstler Chapel for Mrs. Stina Darcy, who passed away October 29 at the age of 93. The Rev. J.L. Garland, pastor of the Grace Bible Church, officiated. Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jas. Jorgensen, Jas. Nielsen, John Darcy, John Anderson, George Johnson and Ray Elwood.
Kristina Fredrickson, daughter of Nels and Kristina Fredrickson, was born July 24, 1859 at Jutland, Denmark. She came to America in 1887 and several years later he was united in marriage to Nels Hansen. Mr. Hansen passed away in 1922, leaving her a widow for several years. She was married to John Darcy Sr. Oct. 5, 1931, who also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Darcy lived in Creighton for many years and in spite of her age lived alone and cared for herself. Because of failing health she spent several months during the past year with her niece, Mrs. E. L. Mortensen at Valparaiso, returning to her home in Creighton in September.
She is survived by her niece, Mrs. Mortensen, whom she raised from childhood, other nieces and nephews.
