The subject of this sketch was born April 30, 1882 in Cass County, Nebraska. He was married February 18, 1903 to Leavwenia DeSorlies at Plattsmouth, Nebraska.
His entire lifetime was spent on the farm and for several years he had been a resident of this community, residing east of Creighton. He is survived by the mother, Mrs. Wm. Hendricks of Murray, Nebraska; the widow; two daughters, Florence and Ruth; a brother, John of Plattsmouth and five sisters as follows; Mrs. John Carrol of Plainview, Nebraska, Mrs. Chas. Carrol, Murray, Nebraska; Mrs. Abner Stagle, Magnet, Nebraska; Mrs. Jake Taylor, Gordon, Nebraska and Mrs. Albert Lillie, Plattsmouth, Nebraska.
He held membership in the Baptist church. The body arrived in Creighton Thursday. Funeral services were held from the M.C. Church Saturday morning, conducted by Rev. DeBenham.
The great number of folks attending the funeral in but a small measure attested the sterling character of this most likeable young man, whom every acquaintance liked well for his genial character and his honest sincerity in every matter to which he gave utterance.
The News joins with the very great number of friends of the late Jess Hendricks in extending to the relatives, who mourn his death, condolences and sympathy, not in words alone, but in true sincerity.
