Beatrice Hoffart, the daughter of Howard and Grace (Alexander) Shacklett, was born at Modale, IA on February 8, 1910 and passed away on February 27, 2005 at Bloomfield Good Samaritan Center in Bloomfield at the age of 95 years and 19 days.
She was baptized at the Congregational Church in Brunswick and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Eden Valley. At the time of her death, she was a member of Zion Lutheran Church at Creighton.
She graduated from Plainview High School. Following graduation, she worked at a grocery store in Plainview for a year and then taught Rural School for three years. She also worked as a telephone operator before her marriage.
On April 8, 1933 she married Bernard (Ben) Hoffart at Sioux City, IA. They farmed in the Plainview and Creighton vicinity until retiring to their home in Creighton in 1972.
Survivors include her daughters, Barbara Emory of Norfolk and Roberta Reese of Creighton; 7 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 4 great, great grandchildren and one sister, Opal Mueller of Creighton.
Bertrice was preceded in death by her husband, Ben; 3 brothers; one sister; one son-in-law and one grandson-in-law.
