Funeral services for Mrs. Edward J. Allain, who died yesterday afternoon at her residence in Plaquemine following a lengthy illness, were to be held at 4 p.m. today at St. John the Baptist church in Brusly. Interment was to be in the Catholic cemetery there.

She was the former Ernestine Bernard.

She is survived by four sons, Vivian of Plaquemine, Eugene, of Abbeville, Bernard and Shirley, of Melville; two daughters, Mrs. Stanley Shiman of New Orleans and Mrs. Lynn Clement of Addis; three brothers, Paul Bernard of New Orleans, Louis B. Bernard of Opelousas, and Babin Bernard, who lives in North Carolina.

Four sisters, Mrs. Amedee Voohries [sic Voorhies] of Moreauville, Mrs. Armond Landry and Mrs. Elmere Levert of Bursly [sic Brusly], and Mrs. Aris Clement of Plaquemine; and 13 grandchildren also survive.

The body will be at the Wilbert funeral home in Plaquemine until services this afternoon at 4 o'clock from St. John the Baptist Catholic church in Brusly. Interment will be in the Catholic cemetery there.
