Bill was always a cowboy. He loved horses and living in the country. He met Neva Joyce Carr when they were students at Panhandle state College, Goodwell OK. They married 23 Dec 1951 at Canute OK and divorced in 1969. They were parents of four children: William Max "Butch', Margaret Joyce "Margie", Larry J and Kathy Diane Branch.
After their divorce, he married several times with little success. One marriage to Deloris Drake produced another son, Erick.
Bill died of congestive heart failure at age 59 after a very brief illness.
