Samuel William "Sam" Titta, 76, of Madam's Creek, Hinton, died Saturday, April 1, 2006 at the Raleigh General Hospital at Beckley, following a short illness.

Born July 4, 1929 in Wyoming Co., he was the son of the late Constantino Salvatoria and Maria Aeillo Titta.

Sam had lived most of his life in Summers Co. he was a retired machinist for the Norfolk and Southern Railroad with forty-nine years of service. He was a Baptist.

Preceded in death by one son, Steve Titta, one daughter, Pamela Titta, three brothers and six sisters.

Survived by his wife Jean Titta at Home, one daughter, Venesia Clinebell and husband David of Jumping Branch,one sister, Josephine Anderson of Beckley, two stepdaughters, Gail Ronat and husband Andy of Ellison and Shelda Crook and husband Jackie of Jumping Branch, one grandson, Shawn Titta and wife Tara of Charlotte, NC and one granddaughter, Erica Reed and husband John of Jumping Branch; six step grandchildren, Bobby Ronat and wife Sarah, Melinda Ronat, Jason Crook, Jackie Lee Crook and wife Tina, Aaron Crook and Brian Crook ,three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel in Hinton with Pastor Donald L. Hannah officiating. Burial will follow in the Lilly-Crews Cemetery at Nimitz.
