D/O John & Martha Matthews of Bagenalstown, South Ireland.
Their daughter Martha immigrated to America, after a three month boat trip from Liverpool, docking at Bridgeport Connecticut on December 7, 1847. Her boat docked 2 hours before her future husband's boat. His boat sailed from Bremen, Germany.
Martha married Frederich Heiderstadt 12/3/1849 in Bridgeport, CT.

FILLMORE COUNTY REPUBLICAN - 1/29/1890
Mrs. F. Heiderstadt died very suddenly Friday, January 24th, at her home in the northeast part of the city. Mrs. Heiderstadt had been an invalid for years, but her sudden death was a shock to her husband and friends. Having been confined to the home through bodily infirmities she was not widely known in our city, but those who had formed her acquaintance respected her very highly. Her funeral services were conducted by Rev. Sweeny, of the Episcopal Church and her body was laid to rest by kind and loving friends.
