Grace E. Persons Gohdes, 78, Hattiesburg, Miss., and formerly of Punta Gorda, died July 3, 1998.

She was born Nov. 1, 1919, in St. Charles, Minn., came to Punta Gorda 24 years ago, and recently moved to Hattiesburg. She received a bachelor's degree and master's degree in nursing education from the University of Minnesota. She worked as a nursing administrator and educator in Minneapolis.

She was a member of Sigma Theta Tau, the National Honor Society for Nursing. She was president of the University of Minnesota Alumni Association for Nursing in 1970, the year the group received the outstanding alumni group award. She was a member of the Burnt Store Country Club.

Survivors include three sons, Lee of Blue Springs, Mo., Gregory of Rochester, Minn., and Craig of Lone Jack, Mo.; a daughter, Cheryl Goggin of Hattiesburg; a brother, Milton Persons of Columbia City, Ind.; a sister, Edith Korpi of Manitowoc, Wis.; and 10 grandchildren.

A memorial service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Aug. 8 at Burnt Store Presbyterian Church. A luncheon will follow at the Burnt Store Country Club. Hulett-Winstead Funeral Home, 205 Bay St., Hattiesburg, is in charge.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the church of your choice or to Hospice of Southwest Florida, 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, FL 34238.
