"WORLAND - Mollie L. Schaff, 91, of Worland died on April 5, 2010 at Worland Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Worland. She was born on Feb. 2, 1919 in Nisland, S. D., a daughter of Adam and Elizabeth (Deines) Lungren.
She moved to Worland with her family in 1923 and lived on a farm east of town. Mollie attended schools in Worland and graduated from Washakie County High School in 1937.
Following graduation she attended Barnes Business College in Denver where she got a degree in bookkeeping. She returned to Worland and became a bookkeeper for Golden Rule Store, W. A. Denton Dept. Store, and the Worland Creamery.
Mollie married Roy Schaff on May 25, 1941 in Billings, Mont.
During World War II the couple lived in California while he served in the U. S Maritime Service and she worked as a bookkeeper in a shipyard.
Following the war, the couple made their home in Billings. While living in Billings she had worked for Beatrice Foods.
Mollie and Roy moved to Riverton in 1959 where she became the bookkeeper for Chopping Chevrolet until her retirement in 1981.
She and her husband enjoyed dancing, even enrolling in Arthur Murray Dance Studios to improve their love of dancing. They also did a lot of golfing, and in the winter months lived at Indio, Calif. Mollie was an avid, master bridge player. Mollie was a longtime member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Worland and became a born again Christian on April 13, 1995.
Her husband died in August 1995, and in 1996 she moved to Worland to be near her family. She moved into to the Beehive Home on Dec. 28, 2001 and into the nursing home on Nov. 11, 2009.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother Victor Lungren, and her sister Alvena Barnes. She also was preceded in death by her brothers-inlaw Otto Bihr, Marvin Fritz, Bill Barnes and John Scheuerman; by her niece Jennifer Scheuerman and a nephew Jerry Bihr and his son Keely Bihr.
Mollie is survived by her brothers Lloyd (Ruth) Lungren Sr. and Ruben (Charlene) Lungren; by her sisters Irene Fritz, Dorothy Scheuerman, Bernice (Jack) Stine, and Irma (Jerry) Geis all of Worland, and Sharon (Bruce) Perryman of Cheyenne; and by numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held on Thursday, Apr. 8, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Worland with Dr. Ralph Partelow officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Worland.
