Carolyn "Hope" Hudson
Carolyn "Hope" Hundley Hurst Hudson was born July 6, 1927 in Madison Hall Community. Parents were Jim and Hazel Hundley, and grandparents were Mr. and Mrs. James H. Garey. She married James T. Hurst in 1946 then Jack B. Hudson in 1978; both precede her in death as does one infant son, James Allen Hurst 1949.
Hope graduated with honors from J.B. Young High School and West TN Business College. She worked at Fitts White Clinic, Woman's Clinic, Law Firm of Spragins, Barnett and Guy and later joining Mr. William Guy at Bankruptcy Trustee. There she remained as office manager till her retirement. While working at the Woman's Clinic, she worked with medical assistants and doctors to organize West TN Medical Assistance Association. She served as president and secretary at both county and state levels.
Hope was an active member at Oak Grove United Methodist Church where she served on many organizations, such as WSCS, and in her younger years MYF.
She is survived by three children, Thomas Garey Hurst, Carolyn Hope "Cindi" Maness (Wendell) & Karen Dale Barger (Ron); seven granddaughters and twelve great-grandchildren.
A special thank you to Christine Martin for her faithful friendship, and West TN Hospice Care for their compassion and gentle care. Their care allowed her to remain in her home at Morningside Assisted Living. And we thank Morningside and all the staff for years of devotion and tender care, especially in her last weeks.

Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday, July 9, 2012 at Highland Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4 till 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
