(1857 - 1947)

Jacob Naidl, 90, retired town of Franklin farmer, who had 103 living descendants in this area, died at 10 a.m. today at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Anna Hynek, 1411 Franklin street, following a lingering illness.

Funeral services will be held at 8:30 a.m. Monday at the Urbanek and Schlei funeral home and at 9 o'clock from the St. Boniface Catholic church with the Rev. Alfred Pritzl officiating. Burial will take place in Evergreen cemetery.

Born in Bohemia in 1857, Mr. Naidl came to America with his parents when five years of age, settling with them on a homestead in the wilderness that was the town of Franklin of that early period. In 1878 he married the former Anna Wachal and the couple took up farming on their own property about three miles north of Whitelaw. Following his wife's death in 1932, Mr. Naidl retired from farming about 11 years ago and came to live with the daughter here.

Surviving are six sons, Charles on the home farm, Frank and Jacob also of the town of Franklin, George of Racine, Edward of Four Corners, and Michael of the town of Cato; four daughters, Mrs. Hynek of this city, Mrs. Joseph Janda of Kossuth, Mrs. Albert Jung of Branch and Mrs. Hardy Shavlik of Polifka's Corners.

He is also survived by 33 grandchildren, 53 grand-children (sic) and seven great-great-grandchildren.

The rosary will be recited at the funeral home at 7 o'clock Sunday evening.
