Kenneth A. Alexander was born on May 17, 1915 in Aurora, KS to Joseph H. and Felicite Z. Hebert Alexander. He passed from this life on Monday, August 4, 2008 at Cloud County Health Center, Concordia, KS at the age of 93.
He married Lorena M. Gunter on June 18, 1941 in Aurora, KS. She survives the home.
He served in the US Army during WWII for 4 years in the South Pacific. He worked for the Cloud County Highway Dept. as an equipment operator and then retiring as a foreman. He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, The Knights of Columbus, American Legion Post #76, VFW Post #588 and Moose Lodge #1428, all of Concordia.
He is survived by his wife, Lorena Alexander, Concordia, KS; sons, Kenneth L. Alexander & wife Judy, Montpelier, ID, Robert L. Alexander & wife Gladys, Houston, TX, Edmond K. Alexander & wife Mary Ellen, Hutchinson, KS and Dennis R. Alexander & wife Terri, Newton, KS; daughters, Marie Deutsch & Husband Russ, Hartsburg, MO, Sharon Ratzlaff & husband Loyd, Hutchinson, KS, Yvonne Hein & husband Alan, Augusta, KS and Denise Finan & husband Frank, Blaine, KS; brother: Isadore Alexander & wife Eva, Concordia, KS; sister: Roselie Fudge, Portland, OR; 24 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 sisters and 4 brothers.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, August 8, 2008 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Concordia with Rev. Barry Brinkman officiating. Burial will follow the services at St. Concordia Cemetery with military honors conducted by VFW Post #588 and American Legion Post #76. Visitation will be held from 9 AM to 9 PM with vigil services at 6:30 PM Thursday, August 7, 2008 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia. The family suggests memorials to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church or American Diabetes Assoc.
