Margaret was the daughter of Jacob and Elizabeth Susanna (Shanafelt) Bowman; Jacob and Elizabeth Susanna die in 1829 and both list their seven daughters as heirs.


Margaret was the second daughter; she married John Pointon Webb on 23 May 1837. He was the son of William and Eleanor (Charlton) Webb.

Pointon and Margaret died in Withers Mill, Marion County, Missouri. They came to Marion County from Snow Hill, Maryland between 1834 and 1840. He owned and farmed land just north of Withers Mill and by 1850 had built a brick home (2 rooms up/2 rooms down). The house is still standing and is now owned by Malcom Gentry (1989). Lucinda (Lucy) Webb inherited the Webb family farm. Their four children were born in the Pointon Webb home, where they added the brick ell to the Pointon Webb home.
