The family of Hazel Irene O'Jibway will celebrate seventy-five years of her life at 4 p.m. Sunday, May 29, at Hope Lutheran Church in Rush Center, Kan. Her earthly remains will be laid to rest at La Crosse Cemetery in La Crosse, Kan. A family gathering will be held on Saturday, May 28, at Hope Lutheran Church from 6 until 8 p.m. The family will return to Lubbock for a memorial service held on Wednesday, June 1, at 4 p.m. at Shepherd of the Plain's Lutheran Church in Lubbock.

Our Mother departed this life on Thursday, May 26, 2005. Hazel was born in Pawnee County, Kan. to Arthur August and Alta Cristina Meier Wagner on Oct. 1, 1929. She married Harold McNemee on Dec. 30, 1952 in Albert, Kan. and the couple moved with their children to Lubbock in 1971. Hazel was employed as a quality control inspector for Texas Instruments from 1973 until 1980. On Jan. 22, 1978, her husband preceded her in death. She became a homemaker after leaving Texas Instruments. She married Philip O'Jibway on Feb. 17, 1990 in Lubbock. Hazel actively participated in several civic organizations such as a Welcome Wagon Hostess in Dumas, VFW Women's Auxiliary in La Crosse, Kan., Ladies Auxiliary at St. Mary's Hospital, West Texas Parkinson Society and the Retired Senior Volunteer Program Sewing Group. She enjoyed her church, Shepherd of the Plains Lutheran Church, where she attended regularly.

Survivors include her husband of fifteen years, Philip O'Jibway; her children, Ray McNemee and wife Debbie, Lila McNemee, Todd McNemee and wife Janie, Tim McNemee and wife Kiyoko, Thomas O'Jibway and wife Barbara, and James O'Jibway and wife Kay; fourteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; her siblings, Norma Lawrence and husband Glenn, Gladys Hinman and husband Wendall, Carolyn Helmer, Lloyd Wagner and wife, Mary, and Kenneth Wagner and wife Carol. To honor Hazel's life, memorial contributions to Shepherd of the Plains Evangelical Lutheran Church at 5812 73rd Street in Lubbock, Texas 79424, will greatly be appreciated.
