Fanny was born in County Kildare on 20 November 1818 to Charles and Martha Doyle. She married John Doyle in Ireland about 1840. They immigrated to the United States with their five children. (The gravestone states 1816 at the year of birth. The family's records state her date of birth was 20 Nov. 1818. Therein lies the discrepancy between the dates on the stone and in this memorial.)

John Doyle died in Cass County, Michigan in 1854. On 20 Dec 1855 Fanny married Job Johnson in Vandalia, Michigan. Mattie Johnson was the youngest of their three children.

Job Johnson died in 1870. On 29 Dec 1890 Fanny married Thaddeus Timothy Crowley in South Bend, Indiana.

She is buried in Section B, Plot 8 of Cedar Grove Cemetery. She shares a gravestone with her granddaughter, Nellie May Avery.
