GEORGE ABBOTT
George Abbott Sr. died at his home on Whig Street, Friday, aged 73 years. Mr. Abbott was born in England and came to this country when a young man. He was a blacksmith by trade and worked at it for more than 50 years, until compelled by ill health to retire several years ago.
The funeral was held at the Congregational church today with the burial at Owego. Newark Valley Lodge F.A.M., of which Mr. Abbott has been a member for many years, had charge of the services.
