The family moved from Wisconsin to homestead on the high plains near Guernsey, Wyoming in 1915. Grace worked at the Guernsey Hotel to help the family make ends meet. She met Earl "Mac" Mcadams there in 1920. They were married on 4 June 1921 in Wheatland, WY.
Earl and Grace lived next to the Guernsey Rail Depot where Earl was the station manager. They had two children, Virginia and Earl C. In October 1931 the family moved to Boulder City, NV. Grace kept an immacuate home and hated the dust that blew in from the construction of Boulder Dam.
For the next 15 years the family were part of the building of Boulder, Parker, and Shasta Dams. Grace learned to play golf to have extra time with Mac.
Mac died in 1954, Grace was heartbroken. She moved to San Diego CA where the sound and smell of the Pacific Ocean at Mission Beach eased the pain. She loved to dote on her 6 Grandsons. Her golf game improved to the point where she began to win tournaments.
When she visited her siblings in Wyoming, it was a most unusual reunion. They would sit on the porch, no words were exchanged, they just loved one another's company.
Grace was a victim of Alzheimers and died in 1983. Her ashes were spread over her beloved Pacific Ocean. She was survived by her children, Virginia and Earl C, 6 Grandsons, brother Harry, and sister Neva.
