Earl was born Dec 30, 1925 in Guernsey, Wyoming to Earl H. and Grace McAdams. As a young boy the family moved to Parker, Arizona along with sister Virginia, where his father worked in the personnel department of The Six Companies constructing Boulder Dam. This is where he became enamored of the sights and sounds of the desert which he eventually passed on to his future family.
When Boulder Dam was completed the McAdams moved on to Redding, CA. As Earl H. McAdams assumed the personnel manager position for Six Companies in the construction of Shasta Dam. At the young age of 13 Earl met his future wife Patricia Willey. At 16 years old he was showing off his skills to Patricia 400 feet above the Sacramento River, greasing cables. As the youngest card carrying iron worker on Shasta Dam.
Upon graduating high school Earl joined the Navy during the last years of World War II, deploying on an aircraft carrier as a weatherman and yearning to fly. As the war waned he was transferred to Albuquerque, Nm attending college, never flying for the navy, but taking private lessons to be prepared to serve again if ever the need arose.
His future wife attended St. Joseph's Catholic Nursing College in San Francisco where after her graduation Earl and Pat married on Feb 8, 1948 in Redding, CA and moved to Santa Monica so Earl could finish his college education at UCLA and acquire his teaching credential. Moving to El Cajon, Earl started his teaching career for the La Mesa/Spring Valley School District, in 1950, teaching industrial arts/science and math and earning his Master's at SDSU.
Buying a house in La Mesa, Earl and Pat worked at supporting their growing family and saving until they could move to Jamul to build their own house with their three boys. After teaching at La Mesa Jr. High. Earl transferred to La Presa Jr. High becoming Principal in 1976 and retiring in 1984.
After retirement Earl and Patricia spent their time playing tennis, swimming and traveling, while helping their sons and families build their homes in Jamul.

Memorial services will be held at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Jamul October 26, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. Inurnment with military honors will be at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery at 10:00 a.m., on October 27, 2011.
