Wayne County Press Monday February 1, 1982 BESSIE HUTCHRAFT, 87, OF WAYNE CITY, DIES Mrs. Bessie Hutchcraft, 86, a Wayne City resident, died at 1:50 a.m. Monday at Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Hutchcraft had been admitted to the hospital four days prior to her death. She had suffered a stroke at the home of her daughter and had been treated for high blood pressure for about ten years. Funeral services are pending at Richardson's Funeral home in Wayne City. She was born in Jefferson County December 5, 1895, the daughter of Samuel and Elizabeth Wilkerson. She attended school in Jefferson County. Mrs. Hutchcraft married Fred Hutchcraft January 14, 1914 and he preceded her in death May 11, 1942. She was a housewife during her marriage and helped her husband with farming in the Aden area. After his death she moved to Keenes and remained there until moving to Wayne City six years ago to live with her daughter. She was a member of the Aden General Baptist Church. Survivors include two sons, five daughters, one brother, 36 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, one sister, and one daughter.
