A Grants Pass woman was injured fatally Saturday afternoon when the sedan in which she was a passenger collided with another vehicle at the intersection of Ninth and E streets.
Mrs. Nyna Dahl, 72, 438 NE Flint St., was pronounced dead on arrival at Josephine General where she was transported after the accident at 4:23 p.m.
City police reported Mrs. Dahl was a passenger in a vehicle driven by Bessie Myrtle Basil, 76, 1241 Dowell Road. Her
vehicle collided in the intersection with one driven by Michael Angelo Dunn, 19, Rogue River.
Dunn was not injured in the mishap. Mrs. Basil, who reported some pain in one leg, was cited by police for failure to yield right of way at the intersection.
Born March 29, 1899, in Waubay, S.D., Mrs. Dahl had lived in the Grants Pass area 40 years. She was a member of Newman united Methodist Church, Eagles Auxiliary, Lady Elks and Gamma Rho Chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Hull & Hull chapel with the Rev. Charles McCarthy officiating. Vault entombment will follow at Hawthorne Mausoleum.
Surviving are two daughters, Donna Auestad, Portland, and Carol Broderick, Klamath Falls; a son, DeWayne D. Dahl, Grants Pass; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
