Amos Bellinger, one of Herkimer's oldest and most respected citizens, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. John Best of Prospect street. Mr. Bellinger was born in German Flatts in 1832 is forefathers being among the early settlers of the Mohawk Valley. He came to Herkimer in 1875 and for several years was successfully engaged in business retiring about 26 years ago. He was married in 1858 to Mary Getman who died 2 years ago. Besides his daughter, one granddaughter, Marjory Best survives. The funeral was held from the residence this afternoon.
