Archibald Bradfute was the fourth child, second son of Robert Bradfute and Sarah Irvine. He married Louisa Moore on 28 Oct 1834 in Carter County, Tennessee. They were the parents of seven children: Lillias Haseltine Grace, Robert Alexander Hamilton, Victoria Margaret Eliza, John Randolph Macon, Irvine Risdon Jones, Hazelwood Albert Calvin, and Sarah Louisa Champe. Three of four sons died during the Civil War.
