Bernard A. (Benny) Andrastek, 80, of 909 S. 25th St., Manitowoc, died Saturday afternoon, September 17, 1988, at Holy Family Medical Center, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Pfeffer Funeral Home and 10 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Rev. Harold Berryman will officiate at the Mass of Christian Burial and entombment will be in Knollwood Mausoleum.
Mr. Andrastek was born July 2, 1906, at Manitowoc, son of the late John and Anna Strzyzawski Andrastek. He married Cecilia Andrezejewski October 1, 1934, at Wisconsin Rapids. Mr. Andrastek was educated in Manitowoc Schools and was employed for 51 years at Mirro Company. When he retired in July or 1973 he was the Tool and Die Inspector of the Machine Shop. Mr. Andrastek was a member of Mirro Mangement Club; 45 year member of Fraternal Order of Eagles 706 of Manitowoc, 31 year member of Manitowoc Marine Band and was the past Property Manager of the band for 18 years, was a past member of American Legion band and was a 50 year honorary member of the Musicians Local 195. He was a member of St. Mary’s Mens Club and was past Secretary, St. Mary Catholic Church and served as a Consultant and Church Usher.
Survivors include his wife, Cecilia; a son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Barbara Andrastek, of Garden Grove, California; three daughters and sons-in-law, Bernita and Bob Heinz of Manitowoc, Constance and Steve Friebert of Mequon and Carol and Bill Rudebeck of Germantown; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Clara and Newphrey Check and Alice Bonk all of Manitowoc; a sister-in-law, Viola Andrastek of Manitowoc; six grandchildren, Lori Brown and her husband, Fred, Mark Heinz and his wife, Sandy, Paul Heinz and his fiancée, Cindy, Lynn Heinz, Jaclyn and Megan Rudebeck and a great granddaughter, Stephanie Ann Brown. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Joseph, John and Stanley Andrastek and four sisters, Sophie Korlesky, Josephine Sobeiski, Celia Pikulik and Esther Ziarnik.
Friends may call at Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, where a prayer service will be 7 p.m. by his nephew, Deacon Phillip S. Andrastek.
