Marie Saunders Linton, 88, of Paint Bank, died Friday, December 20, 2011, at her residence. Mrs. Linton was born November 18, 1923, at New Castle, a daughter of K.W. & Willie Paistel Saunders. She had retired as the Postmaster of the Paint Bank Post Office after over 20 years with the United States Postal Service. She was a longtime member of the Humphreys Chapel United Methodist Church and was a member of the Paint Bank Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her husband Glen Linton, in 2007, her daughter, Sharon Tingler, in 1995 and also by one sister and one brother. Surviving are two sons and daughter-in-law, Larry and Yvonne Linton, of Salem and Stephen Linton of Paint Bank; six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. The funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Arritt Funeral in Covington with the Rev. David Brown officiating. The interment will be made in the Paint Bank Community Cemetery. The family suggests that memorial donations be made to the Paint Bank Fire Department. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Arritt Funeral Home.
