Mary F. Zywicke, age 89, of 1609 Division St., Manitowoc, died Wednesday morning,
Feb. 27, 2002, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 2, 2002, at St. Andrew
Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be
the Rev. Camillus Janas O.F.M. with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery,
Manitowoc.
She was born May 2, 1912, in Omaha, Neb., daughter of the late John and Marie Vodicka
Baumann. On Feb. 5, 1934, she married Raymond J. Zywicke at Sacred Heart Catholic
Church, Manitowoc. He preceded her in death Jan. 26, 1966. Mary was employed a (sic)
Johnson Hills Department Store for many years until her retirement in 1975. She was
a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church and the Daughters of Isabella.
Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law: Janice and Quirin Swetlik, Manitowoc;
Rita and Ralph Klein, Manitowoc; Diane and Bob Haese, Mishicot; 11 grandchildren: Kim
Silbersack, Burt Silbersack, Kami Cartwright, Beth Swetlik, Jill Schlies, Gina Franz,
Karyn Joy, Tricia Dewane, Keith Klein, Stein Haese, Killy Sullivan; 18 great-
grandchildren: Patti, Todd Jr., Tyler, Kyle, Sam, Steven, David, Caroline, Harrison,
Theo, Erich, Austin, Sloan, Kilson, Brynn, Melissa, Drake and Brant; four brothers:
Anton Baumann, John Baumann, Joseph Baumann, Donald Baumann, all of Manitowoc; and
three sisters and a brother-in-law: Johanna Herman, Sheboygan; Elizabeth Duzeski,
Manitowoc; and Ann and John Rizzo, New Mexico. Also surviving are nieces, nephews,
other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by two sons: Raymond Jr.
and David; a daughter: Mary June Krause; a grandson: Todd Klein and three sisters:
Ella, Beatrice and Lydia.
The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Andrew Catholic Church, Manitowoc,
from 9 a.m. Saturday until the time of service at 10:30 a.m. A Daughters of Isabella
prayer service will preceded the mass.
The Pfeffer Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Manitowoc, is assisting the family
with funeral arrangements.
Although we loved her dearly, we could not make her stay. A golden heart stopped
beating, hard working hands to rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us He only
takes the best.
