Eleanor Latshaw 1897 -1994
Howard C. Latshaw, 82, of Knox, a retired employee of the Pennsylvania Cooperative Association and later a beef cattle farmer in Salem Township, died at 6:20 AM Saturday in the Oil City Hospital following an extended illness. He was born January 15, 1892, in Franklin, a son of George M. and Martha E. Rhoades Latshaw. He attended the Franklin Schools and moved to Clarion County in 1917, where he lived until his death. He was married December 22, 1917, to the former Eleanor Tiel of Franklin, who survives. Mr. Latshaw was a member of the United Church of Christ in Salem. He worked for 23 years in the educational and organization department of the Pennsylvania Cooperative Association and traveled extensively in his job. He retired in 1956 and then owned and operated the beef cattle farm in Salem Township. He sold the farm and business in 1967 and moved to Knox Borough. In addition to his wife, Mrs. Eleanor Latshaw, he is survived by a sister, Mrs. Mildred Elder of Parker RD., and several nieces and nephews. A sister, Mrs. Edna Hunsberger, died January 9,1874. Removal was made to the Roy P. Stuart Funeral Home in Knox, where friends are being received and where funeral services will be held at 2 PM Tuesday. Rev. Douglas Garland, pastor of the Salem United Church of Christ, will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
