BENJAMIN HAVILAND, son of Isaac (213) and Polly Ann (Akin) Haviland, b. 4 of 8 mo., 1786; lived in 1800, in Pawling, N.Y.; d. at Ann Arbor, Mich., 24 of 5 mo., 1861; m., first, Fanny Wixon, who d. 30 of 5 mo., 1826; m., second, widow, Hannah Jackson, b. 24 of 10 mo., 1795; d. at Cannon City, Minn., 23 of 8 mo., 1861. According to a letter from Miss Rhoda Palmer of Geneva, N.Y., Benjamin and his family left Dutchess Co. some time after his brother John did, and settled a few miles from Geneva, and lived there about a year, then went to Wolcott, some twenty miles from there; soon after moving there Fanny Wixon Haviland d., and Jane, the second daughter, was taken back to Dutchess Co., N.Y., and lived with an aunt, her father's sister. Clarissa also went back and lived with another one of her father's sisters, but not so long as Jane did, a year or two perhaps, then they returned to this place. After Benjamin, the father, m. the second time he moved near Jackson, Mich., where he d. Newell, son of John and Polly (Ashly) Haviland (1109); Presbyterian; no children. 1131 Deloss W., b. at Pawling, N.Y., 26 of 4 mo., 1823; d. at Concord, Mich., 5 of 3 mo., 1891; m. there 5 of 9 mo., 1849, Eliza F. French, who, living in 1895, writes from 107 North Union Street, Grand Rapids, Mich., saying she was visiting Fred, son of Clarissa Haviland Gamwell, and that her home was in Concord, Mich. No issue. Issue: Eugene of Tipton, Iowa, and Hattie, deceased; farmer; Methodist. 1134 Squire, b. at Rose Valley, N.Y., 1 of 8 mo., 1832; d. there 1 of 3 mo., 1833. 1135 Fanny M., b. 8 of 6 mo., 1834; d. at New York City, 5 of 10 mo., 1887; m. Dr. Harvey Newton Dale, son of William Dale, b. Aug. 2, 1831, in Western Pennsylvania. Issue: Jessie, b. Dec. 24, 1858; m. John Phillip Altberger of Chicago, Ill.
