Gerald “Jerry” L. Anderson, 65, of 56990 North Altamont Road, Mason, passed away Saturday, Sept. 19, 2009, at Memorial Medical Center in Ashland.

Jerry was born Jan. 15, 1945, in Ashland, the son of Royal and Margaret (Stadler) Anderson. He graduated from Drummond High School in 1963. On July 20, 1968, he was united in marriage to Sandra L. Goldsworthy in Racine.

He was employed by the S.C. Johnson & Sons Corp. in Racine in the maintenance department as a mechanic for over 35 years. He loved to grow a large garden and often — after hours of preparing, cooking, pickling, stewing or what-have-you — he would give it away for a smile. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing, and he was endlessly tinkering or fidgeting with something.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A funeral service for Jerry will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 22, at the Mountain Funeral Home in Ashland. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home in Ashland and continue until the hour of service.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Mountain Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Ashland and Mellen.
