Arthur 'Bud' Britt HURLEY- Arthur 'Bud' Britt, 93, of Hurley, passed away on July 16, 2012 at the Baptist Home in Rhinebeck. He was born Oct. 19, 1918, to Arthur and Josephine (Joy) Britt on the Cherry Hill Farm in the Town of Ulster. He attended Number 7 School in Kingston and graduated from Kingston High School class of 1939. On April 8, 1944, he married, the love of his life, Irene Struble. They moved to Hurley in 1951. Irene and Bud were married for sixty years. She predeceased him on July 11, 2004. Bud was employed by Alfa Laval for forty years, retiring in 1983. He loved the outdoors, which was evident in his hobbies of hunting, fishing and gardening. He was an avid reader of history, especially local history. Bud was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. He is survived by his daughterand her husband as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by his sisters, Violet Cudney, Helen Naccarato; and his nephew, Jay P. Cudney. Entrusted to the care of the Eric Keyser of Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, Inc., 326 Albany Ave., Kingston, where friends may call on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Thursday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Hurley Cemetery. The family would like to extend deep appreciation to the entire staff of C Wing at the Baptist Home in Rhinebeck for the highly skilled, loving and compassionate care they gave Bud.
