Madge Brewer, a food service employee for Contra Costa County for 10 years, died Wednesday at Valley Manor Rehabilitation Center in Concord . She was 79.
The native of Marshall, Ark., moved to Martinez several years ago. She was a member of Oak Park Assembly of God Church in Pleasant Hill. She enjoyed sewing and needlework.
She is survived by her daughter, Shearon Newland of Glendale, Ariz.; son, Wayne Brewer of Peggs, Okla.; and sisters, Mary Millsap of Glendale, Helen Sutterfield of Martinez and La Nell Parish of San Jose. She was preceded in death by her son, James B. Brewer, and daughter, Wanda K. Brewer.
