Winnie Woods Chalcraft was the daughter of Thomas Slater Woods (1872-1944) and Fannie Lord (1877-1959). She married George Smith Chalcraft on 24 March 1915 in Albion, IL.

George Smith Chalcraft and Winnie Woods Chalcraft had five children.

Obituary:
Final rites for Mrs. Winnie W. Chalcraft, 77, of Ellery, were held Monday afternoon from Nale's Funeral Home.

Mrs. Chalcraft died Saturday at Wabash General Hospital in Mt. Carmel, where she had been a patient since June 9.

Surviving are her two daughters, Mrs. Floyd (Ruth) Ewing of Albion and Mrs. Robert (Norma) Doty of Bone Gap; two sons, Harold Chalcraft of Maroa and Francis of Pekin; 16 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Arvel (Mabel) Mann of Ellery and Mrs. Louise Dappert of Furgeson, Mo.; and four brothers, Nile and Paul Woods of Ellery, Glenn of Mason, Washington and Earl of Phoenix, Arizona.

Mrs. Chalcraft was a retired rural school teacher. She started in 1914 at the Samsville school and taught in a number of rural schools for several years, prior to retiring in 1962.

She was a member of the Ellery Christian Church.

Born September 29, 1894 in Edwards County, she was the daughter of Thomas and Fannie Lord Woods. She was married March 23, 1915 to George Chalcraft of Ellery, who died June 6, 1944.

Also preceding her in death were a daughter, Mrs. Alene Schmidt, who died September 5, 1962; a sister, Mrs. Mary Veith; and two brothers, Ross and Virgil Woods.

The Rev. Emery Emmert, a former pastor at Ellery and now of Grayson, Ky., officiated at the services. Burial was at Graceland Cemetery.
